Can't believe I'm actually starting a blog. I read so many blogs. Guess it's my turn. Of course last night was the first time I'd even put a picture up. I had to get my daughter to help . Put a couple on Facebook.
I had to stop and go fix tuna fish for lunch. How do you fix your tuna for sandwiches? I use my Mother's recipe then I tweak it to suit me. Boiled eggs, dill pickles, onions with mayo(or Miracle Whip-this is Texas you know) and mustard. Now that's Mother's recipe. I also include celery, dill and lemon juice and zest. Of course S and P. My grandmother never would let me drink milk with it. It's an old wives tale about milk and fish together is bad juju. That's my favorite thing to drink with it. And potato chips. That's the holy trinity.
LOL @ the holy trinity thing! Isn't it funny how we like things a certain way? I will not eat a tuna fish sandwich unless I have Lays potato chips to layer on top of it, under the bread. Also, pepper. Without those two things, fuggetaboutit.
ReplyDeleteMy tuna fish is made with mayo (not Miracle Whip or my kids wouldn't eat it...I swear I guestioned if they were mine, with their hatred of M. Whip, but I love it), boiled eggs, dill relish, celery salt, course ground black pepper and that's it!
My youngest daughter would ONLY eat tuna fish sandwiches when she went to Mother's Day Out when she was little. Seriously, her teacher pulled me aside one day and asked me if she didn't like anything else, like PB&J or bologna...I guess they thought I was torturing her with the tuna every day but that's what the child begged me for!!
Wow, lots to say about tuna, sorry for the ramble :-)
